Both natural and artificial light have a significant influence on the well-being of humans. Suitable lighting can have a positive effect on consumption behaviour and work performance.

Lighting is therefore becoming increasingly important as a building automation parameter. In addition to the right choice of lamps and fittings, another important aspect is the control of different lighting scenarios.

Lighting

Beckhoff offers a wide range of products for lighting control

Universal dimmers KL2751 (300 VA) and KL2761 (600 VA) for controlling ohmic, inductive or capacitive loads, automatic load detection and calculation of the correct phase control angle

Light switching: KL2602 (loads up to 5 A AC/DC ohmic and 2 A AC/DC inductive); KM2614 (with integrated manual operation) and KM2604 (up to 16 A per output)

KL2512 for switching or dimming of negative switching 24 V DC LEDs via PWM

The DALI master terminal KL6811 offers benefits in relation to cabling effort and diagnostic options. The terminal is controlled through the building automation software library DALI/DSI V2, based on the DALI standard (IEC 60929). The library contains expansion commands for discharge lamps and emergency lighting.

DMX master EL6851 for controlling of facade or effect lighting; DMX slave EL6851-0010 for integration in stage lighting. The terminals are integrated via EtherCAT.

The TwinCAT PLC Building Automation software library offers comprehensive lighting control function blocks such as constant light control.
